Overview

Axe Woves (Holocomm) is an Amazon exclusive released in November 2023 at $34.99, and was among the first figures released in the Black Series Holocomm Collection sub-line. Axe Woves is a Mandalorian warrior who appears prominently in The Mandalorian Season 3 — a member of the Nite Owls and, under Bo-Katan’s leadership, one of the fighters involved in the attempt to retake Mandalore. The figure is a repaint of the 2022 Black Series Axe Woves sculpt with the Holocomm accessories added.

What Is the Holocomm Collection?

The Holocomm Collection is a Phase 4 exclusive sub-line running 2023–2024, adding a light-up Holo Puck and Bounty Chip to each figure as standard additions over regular retail releases. The Holo Puck is a small illuminated disc — press it to activate — referencing the holographic communication and bounty tracking technology seen across the franchise. Every figure in the collection ships with both accessories; the Holo Puck is the centrepiece addition that defines the sub-line as a premium tier. Ten figures were released across the programme, distributed across Amazon, Walmart, Target, Fan Channel, ShopDisney, and HasbroPulse.

The Figure

17 joints — slightly below the 19-joint standard for most Phase 4 figures, but still a solid count. Ball-jointed dual-axis neck, ball-jointed shoulders, elbows, wrists, upper body, hips, swivel thighs, ball-jointed knees, ball-jointed ankles. The 17-joint scheme reflects the armoured build of the figure — Mandalorian armour limits certain movement ranges but the figure achieves good combat poses.

Accessories

Blaster — the holster is functional and houses the blaster correctly. The trigger finger right hand allows a clean draw pose.

Removable helmet — fits perfectly over the head. The rangefinder — the pivoting sensor arm above the right eye — moves up and down, one of those specific articulation details that rewards close inspection. The rangefinder articulation is not universal on Mandalorian helmets in the line, making it a genuine positive here.

Jet-Pack — plugs firmly into a hole in the back of the figure. No loose fit; the attachment is stable for display.

The 2022 Base Sculpt

This figure is a repaint of the 2022 Black Series Axe Woves. The sculpt captures the Mandalorian armour with the Nite Owls blue colouring. If you own the 2022 version, the Holocomm adds the Holo Puck and Bounty Chip; if you don’t, this is the better-equipped version of the character to own with those extras included.

Axe Woves as a Character

Axe Woves is one of the more developed Mandalorian supporting characters in Season 3 — a pragmatist and warrior who clashes with Din Djarin’s traditionalist approach to the Creed. His helmet-removal on screen (unlike Din) makes the removable helmet on this figure contextually accurate. The rangefinder detail adds further screen accuracy. As a display piece paired with Bo-Katan Kryze Holocomm and Din Djarin Holocomm, the three form a complete Mandalorian trio from the Season 3 arc.

Axe Woves and the Nite Owls

The Nite Owls are a Mandalorian faction with a long history across The Clone Wars and modern series. Initially Death Watch fighters who followed Bo-Katan rather than Pre Vizsla, they became their own group with Bo-Katan at the helm. Axe Woves’ role within the Nite Owls is that of an experienced field commander — technically skilled, occasionally sceptical of the leadership decisions above him, but ultimately loyal to the Mandalorian cause. His Season 3 arc involves commanding a significant operation that plays a pivotal role in the Mandalore storyline.

Three Mandalorians, One Sub-Line

The Holocomm Collection’s three Mandalorian entries — Axe Woves, Bo-Katan, and Din Djarin — form the most cohesive display group in the sub-line.
