Release Year: ID: mandalorian-remnant-stormtrooper-bs-2020

The 2020 Remnant Stormtrooper (Target Exclusive) is one of the most atmospheric and world‑building troop builders in the entire Phase IV Black Series. Unlike the clean, polished Imperial Stormtroopers of the original trilogy, the Remnant Troopers of The Mandalorian represent the collapse of the Empire — scattered, starving, under‑equipped, and clinging to whatever scraps of authority they can maintain.

Hasbro’s figure captures that narrative shift with a heavily weathered repaint of the new 2020 Stormtrooper body. This is the first time the updated sculpt — slimmer, more accurate, and dramatically more poseable — was used for a variant. The armor is covered in grime, scuffs, chipped paint, and uneven discoloration, reflecting years of neglect and battlefield attrition. The deco is intentionally chaotic, with asymmetrical dirt patterns and worn edges that give each figure a unique, lived‑in feel.

The helmet is one of the standout elements. The improved 2020 sculpt features sharper brow lines, more accurate aerators, and better frown vent geometry. The weathering enhances the sculpt, settling into the recesses and giving the helmet a gritty, cinematic realism. The torso armor, limbs, and undersuit all benefit from the updated proportions, eliminating the bulky stiffness of the 2013 body.

The accessory loadout is intentionally minimal: a single E‑11 blaster. This reflects the Remnant’s depleted resources — these troopers are barely holding their gear together, let alone carrying specialized weapons. The E‑11 is sharply sculpted and supports patrol, firing, and bracing poses.

As a Target exclusive, this figure became one of the most desirable troop builders of 2020. It remains essential for any Nevarro, Imperial Remnant, or early‑series Mando display.

Technical Details & Sculpt

Overall Sculpt & Proportions

Built on the 2020 Stormtrooper body:

  • slimmer torso
  • improved helmet proportions
  • natural limb geometry
  • enhanced articulation
  • screen‑accurate stance

The weathering elevates the sculpt dramatically.

Helmet & Armor

The armor includes:

  • heavy grime and scuffing
  • chipped white paint
  • matte and gloss variation
  • crisp black undersuit separation
  • accurate frown vents and aerators

The deco sells the “fallen Empire” aesthetic.

Articulation

The articulation supports firing, bracing, and patrol poses:

  • ball‑jointed head
  • hinged neck base
  • butterfly shoulders
  • swivel‑hinge elbows
  • swivel wrists
  • torso ball joint
  • ball‑jointed hips
  • thigh swivels
  • double‑jointed knees
  • rocker ankles

The figure poses fluidly despite the armor.

Paint & Deco

The deco work is the defining feature:

  • layered grime
  • asymmetrical dirt patterns
  • chipped armor edges
  • subtle brown/grey weathering
  • clean E‑11 detailing

No two figures look exactly alike due to the patterning.

Accessories & Equipment

Collector Notes

  • Target exclusive (2020)
  • first weathered variant on the new Stormtrooper body
  • essential for Mando Season 1 displays
  • pairs naturally with Din, IG‑11, Cara Dune, and Gideon
  • one of the most atmospheric troop builders in Phase IV

This release captures the Stormtrooper at its most desperate, degraded, and cinematic.

Display & Photography Notes

The Remnant Trooper excels in patrol and ambush poses. Harsh side lighting enhances the grime, while cool rim light brings out the helmet silhouette. For dioramas, it fits naturally into Nevarro streets, abandoned Imperial outposts, or Remnant patrols.

Ideal for:

  • Nevarro dioramas
  • Imperial Remnant armies
  • Season 1 Mando displays
  • gritty, cinematic photography
