Sebulba — Star Wars The Black Series #TPM 06

The Black Series Sebulba — Phase 4 TPM Collection #06, 2025. The Dug podracer with flight cap and chubba chubba accessories. 17 joints. Fan Channel exclusive. The only Black Series Sebulba. Collector guide.

Overview

Phase 4 TPM Collection #06 is Sebulba — the Dug podracer, Anakin Skywalker’s primary rival in the Boonta Eve Classic, the most decorated and most dangerous podracer on the circuit before a nine-year-old human child from Tatooine beats him. Sebulba is TPM’s most fleshed-out non-human supporting antagonist — aggressive, cheating, genuinely threatening to Anakin’s life, and characterised with a specific arrogance that communicates someone who has never faced a real challenge until this race.

Two accessories: flight cap and chubba chubba (the food item he eats while watching the race). 17 joints. Fan Channel exclusive. $24.99. 2025. The only Black Series Sebulba.

The Character

Sebulba’s specific role in TPM is as the antagonist of the podrace sequence — the established champion who cheats, who threatens Anakin verbally and physically before the race, and who loses to a child with Force-enhanced reflexes. His Dug species design — walking on what function as hands, fighting with the feet, the specific inverted locomotion — is one of the prequel era’s most memorable alien designs. The arrogant champion who expects to win is a narrative archetype; the arrogant champion who walks on his hands and eats a chubba while watching his competition is specifically Sebulba.

The chubba chubba accessory is the figure’s most character-specific inclusion — it’s not a weapon or a racing accessory but a leisure prop from a specific TPM scene. It communicates that Sebulba doesn’t take Anakin seriously enough to watch the pre-race preparation closely.

The Flight Cap

The removable flight cap is the functional racing accessory — the specific headgear of the podrace circuit that all competitors wear. For Sebulba, it represents his professional context rather than his personal aggression. Sebulba without the cap is the antagonist at rest; Sebulba with the cap is the competitor in his operational environment.

The Dug Design at 6-Inch Scale

Rendering the Dug body plan at 6-inch scale requires specific engineering — the inverted locomotion, the proportional difference between the powerful legs-used-as-arms and the smaller arm-appendages, the distinctive facial structure. The 17-joint scheme covers the figure’s specific articulation needs: neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, hips, knees, lower knees, ankles — a standard humanoid count adapted to the non-humanoid form factor.

The Only Black Series Sebulba

Verdict

The only Black Series Sebulba. Buy for the TPM podrace display, the chubba chubba accessory, or TPM Collection completion.

The Podrace as TPM’s Action Centrepiece

The Boonta Eve Classic is TPM’s longest sustained action sequence — the podrace that determines Anakin’s freedom and the Jedi’s ability to get a hyperdrive generator for Padmé’s ship. Sebulba’s role in it: the established champion who cheats throughout (sabotaging competitors, using flame jets on Anakin’s pod), who is ultimately beaten because Anakin’s Force reflexes exceed what Sebulba’s experience and cheating can overcome.

The specific outcome — Sebulba’s pod crashes when Anakin’s tow cables entangle his engine — is Anakin not defeating Sebulba through superior aggression but through the specific chaos of a race that exceeds everyone’s ability to control. Sebulba loses to circumstances; Anakin wins by surviving long enough for the circumstances to turn.

Dug Physiology at Figure Scale

The Dug species’ inverted locomotion — Dugs walk on their arms, which are adapted as legs, using their actual legs (upper limbs) for manipulation and expression — creates a figure engineering challenge. The 17-joint count adapted to the Dug body plan covers: two ball-jointed necks, shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, wrists, waist, hips, knees, lower knees, and ankles. The result is a figure that can represent both Sebulba’s characteristic aggressive posture and the more relaxed stance of someone who expects to win easily.

The Chubba Chubba Scene

The specific TPM moment the chubba chubba accessory references: Sebulba eating in the Mos Espa market, watching Anakin’s setup, not taking the competition seriously. It’s a scene of leisure and arrogance. The accessory communicates that Sebulba’s relationship to the race is fundamentally different from Anakin’s — for Anakin, the race is freedom or slavery; for Sebulba, it’s another opportunity to demonstrate dominance he already assumes.

Including a leisure prop as an accessory is unusual in the Black Series — most accessories are weapons or functional equipment. The chubba chubba is specifically characterisation in plastic form.

Sebulba at #TPM 06 is the only Black Series Sebulba and the TPM Collection’s most character-specific accessory figure — the chubba chubba communicates personality rather than function. Fan Channel exclusive. Verify both accessories on secondary market purchases. No production variants documented.

Sebulba alongside the child Anakin (#TPM 02) creates the Boonta Eve Classic’s two principals — the champion and the challenger, the established winner and the impossible first-time entrant. The specific scale relationship between the two figures (Sebulba’s Dug proportions against Anakin’s child-scale) communicates the race’s asymmetry.

Sebulba is the kind of figure that makes Phase 4’s TPM Collection significant — not a character anyone would have predicted receiving a 6-inch Black Series release, but one whose inclusion communicates that the line treats supporting characters as worth the production investment. The chubba chubba is the specific accessory that makes him irreplaceable.

Sebulba at #TPM 06 closes the Phase 4 TPM Collection with the figure that best represents what the line can do when it commits to supporting characters: a species-specific body plan, a character-specific accessory, and a completely irreplaceable slot in any TPM display.

No production variants documented. One release at Fan Channel. Both accessories — flight cap and chubba chubba — must be present. The chubba chubba is the smaller of the two and the most likely to be lost from loose secondary market figures.
