Tusken Raider (Credit Collection) — Star Wars The Black Series
The Black Series Tusken Raider (Credit Collection) — November 2022 GameStop exclusive. Repaint of 2017 source body. 19 joints, 6 accessories: rifle (can't grip properly), gaderffii stick, 3 exchangeable tips, New Republic Credit coin. Same engineering as Archive Tusken but in CC palette. MSRP $27.99.
Overview
The Tusken Raider at the Credit Collection translates the canonical Mandalorian Tatooine desert nomad into the distinctive end-credit artwork aesthetic. Released November 2022 exclusively at GameStop. GameStop exclusive at $27.99. 19 joints. Six accessories: a rifle, a gaderffii stick with three exchangeable tips, and a collectible New Republic Credit coin. The figure is a repaint of the 2017 Black Series Tusken Raider (figure id=5977) with the Credit Collection’s stylised colour palette.
The Six-Accessory Loadout and Three-Tip Engineering
The Tusken Raider came with a rifle and a gaderffii stick with three exchangeable and different tips — the tips can easily be plugged in and out. The Tusken Raider is able to hold the gaderffii stick with both hands simultaneously and raise it over his head — the canonical above-head gaderffii display configuration.
The blaster rifle looks nice, but the figure is unable to hold it properly — the same rifle-grip limitation noted on the Tusken Raider (Archive). This is an inherited source-body constraint rather than a CC-specific issue.
The three different gaderffii tips support army-builder variety — if you purchase multiple Tusken Raiders across the CC and Archive releases, the three tip variants can be distributed to create visual differentiation without additional acquisitions.
The Soft-Goods Robe
The soft-goods robe is tucked underneath the head and only removable with a lot of effort — more strongly discouraged than the Archive release note, where it’s also not recommended. The Credit Collection Tusken displays best in the fully-robed configuration.
Articulation
19 joints with standard Phase 4 baseline articulation. The figure stands securely on display without any balancing issues.
Distribution Context
GameStop exclusive Credit Collection release at $27.99 — November 2022. One of two GameStop-exclusive 2022 CC entries alongside the Armorer (Credit Collection) from earlier in the year. GameStop’s 2022 CC pair covers a classic Mandalorian-adjacent character (Armorer) and the Tatooine desert nomad (Tusken Raider).
Secondary Market
Single-carded GameStop exclusive Credit Collection release, November 2022. Available on the secondary market. Verify the rifle, gaderffii stick, all three tips, and the New Republic Credit coin are present. The small tips are the most easily lost.
Verdict
Tusken Raider (Credit Collection) brings the same three-tip gaderffii engineering from the Archive release into the CC palette — the three exchangeable tips support visual variety for army-builder display configurations, the gaderffii two-hand-and-above-head display works well, and the figure is stable. The rifle grip limitation and not-recommended robe removal are the same constraints as the Archive release.
Buy this if you collect the Credit Collection as a complete set, if you want to build a multi-Tusken display combining CC and Archive figures with varied gaderffii tip configurations, or if the GameStop-exclusive 2022 CC entry appeals.
The Tatooine desert nomad in his Credit Collection artistic interpretation. The figure with the three-tip gaderffii, the can’t-grip-properly rifle, the difficult-to-remove robe, and the New Republic Credit coin. GameStop exclusive, November 2022.
