Release Year: 2010 VC Number: #VC07 ID: dack-ralter-star-wars-the-vintage-collection-vc07

The brave, ill-fated tail gunner of Rogue Group flew into The Vintage Collection in 2010 as part of the debut Wave 1. Representing Dack Ralter as he appeared during the desperate defense of Echo Base in The Empire Strikes Back, this figure was a significant upgrade for fans of the Rebel Alliance’s flight crews. Utilizing a modern, super-articulated pilot body, this release provided a version of Dack that finally looked right at home in the rear seat of the Luke Skywalker’s Snowspeeder vehicle released in the same year.

Technical Details & Sculpt

  • Design & Pilot Silhouette: The sculpt features the specialized cold-weather flight suit of the Rebel pilots on Hoth, rendered with realistic fabric folds, quilted textures, and survival gear. The figure captures the youthful, eager profile of Luke’s loyal wingman before the heavy Imperial assault began.
  • Deco & Echo Base Palette: The 2010 release is defined by its vibrant Rebel orange finish. The paint application features the unique grey and white markings on the helmet, along with the Rebel Alliance "starbird" insignias. Subtle metallic silver and black are used for the life-support chest unit and buckles, providing a technical, "used-universe" look.
  • Articulation: Featuring premium TVC articulation, including ball-jointed shoulders, elbows, and knees. The specialized ball-jointed hips and "rocker" ankles are key for this figure, as they allow Dack to sit naturally in the rear gunner's seat of a Snowspeeder or stand at attention during a briefing.
  • Display Utility: This is the mandatory "crewman" for any Hoth Hangar or Snowspeeder display. He is best positioned alongside Luke Skywalker (VC23) or Han Solo (VC03).

Accessories & Equipment

Dack Ralter comes prepared for the sub-zero temperatures and high-stakes combat of the Hoth system. He includes a specialized flight helmet, featuring printed Alliance markings and a translucent yellow visor, which fits securely over the head sculpt. For defense outside the cockpit, he comes equipped with a standard-issue DH-17 blaster pistol, featuring a dark metallic finish. A standout feature of the 2010 release is the removable life-support chest unit, which connects via a flexible hose, and the highly detailed head sculpt that captures Dack's optimistic expression—a stark contrast to the grim battle that follows.
