The true architect of the Clone Wars and the fall of the Jedi Order, Darth Sidious, cast his shadow over The Vintage Collection in late 2011 as part of Wave 10. Representing his manipulative presence in The Phantom Menace, this figure captures the Dark Lord of the Sith as he appeared while communicating with the Trade Federation from the heights of Coruscant. It was a highly anticipated release, providing collectors with a sinister, super-articulated Sith Master to oppose the Jedi of the prequel era.

Technical Details & Sculpt

  • Design & Sith Aesthetic: The sculpt is a masterclass in recreating the layered, textured look of the Sith Lord’s heavy black robes. It features a combination of molded plastic and soft-goods to replicate the deep, shadowed hood and the flowing silhouette that conceals Sidious’ true identity and physical power.
  • Deco & Likeness: The 2011 release features a menacing head sculpt that captures the likeness of Ian McDiarmid beneath the shadows of his hood. The paint application on the face is subtle, emphasizing the pale, sunken features of a man consumed by the dark side, while the robes are a deep, uniform black with realistic fabric textures.
  • Articulation: Featuring TVC articulation in the upper body, including ball-jointed shoulders and elbows. Due to the screen-accurate floor-length robes, the lower body articulation is largely static to maintain the figure's stability and its imposing, immovable presence on a command deck.
  • Display Utility: This is the essential "puppet master" figure for any Coruscant or Trade Federation Bridge diorama. He is best displayed alongside Darth Maul (VC86) or Daultay Dofine (VC82).

Accessories & Equipment

Darth Sidious comes prepared to rule the galaxy from the shadows. He includes his signature Sith cane, which he can hold in a dignified yet sinister pose. A standout feature of the 2011 release is the removable soft-goods cloak and hood. This allows collectors to adjust the "depth" of the shadows on his face, recreating the various ways he appeared via hologram or in person throughout the film.
