Release Year: 2010 VC Number: #VC01 ID: dengar-star-wars-the-vintage-collection-vc01

The galaxy’s most battle-worn Corellian bounty hunter had the distinct honor of being VC01, the very first figure to launch The Vintage Collection in 2010. Representing Dengar as he appeared during the iconic bounty hunter assembly in The Empire Strikes Back, this figure set the tone for the entire line. It proved that even background characters could receive "super-articulated" treatment and screen-accurate detailing, effectively retiring the older, pre-posed versions of the character for a definitive 3.75-inch scale masterpiece.

Technical Details & Sculpt

  • Design & Bounty Hunter Silhouette: The sculpt features Dengar's signature "scavenged" look, consisting of mismatched Imperial stormtrooper armor pieces worn over a padded flight suit. The figure captures his rugged, stocky profile as he stands among the elite mercenaries summoned to the Executor bridge.
  • Deco & Gritty Realism: The 2010 release is defined by its heavy weathered finish. The paint application on the armor plates includes realistic scuffs and carbon scoring, while the head bandages feature a subtle tan wash to simulate years of grime from the Outer Rim. The facial paint captures the scarred, grimacing expression of the veteran hunter.
  • Articulation: Featuring premium TVC articulation, including ball-jointed shoulders, elbows, and knees. The ball-jointed neck and swivel waist allow Dengar to be posed in a menacing slouch or alert combat stance, ready to track his prey across the dunes of Tatooine.
  • Display Utility: This is the mandatory "mercenary" for any Star Destroyer Bridge or Bounty Hunter Meeting diorama. He is best positioned alongside Boba Fett (VC09) and Bossk (VC42).

Accessories & Equipment

Dengar comes prepared to collect his bounty with a heavy-duty tactical loadout. He includes his signature Valken-38 carbine, featuring a dark metallic finish and a detailed scope. For closer engagements, he comes equipped with a DL-21 blaster pistol, which fits snugly into a functional holster on his hip. A standout feature of the 2010 release is the removable backpack, featuring simulated survival gear and technical components. Additionally, the figure includes a removable secondary blaster that can be stowed on the backpack, ensuring that the "Payback" hunter is never outgunned in a skirmish.
