One of the most recognizable denizens of Jabba’s palace, Klaatu made his return to The Vintage Collection in 2019 as part of Wave 20. Representing the green-skinned Nikto species, Klaatu is famously seen as a gambler and a general tough for Jabba the Hutt. This release was particularly significant for long-time collectors, as it finally provided a modern, super-articulated update to the character that first appeared in the original 1983 Kenner line.

Technical Details & Sculpt

• Character Likeness: The sculpt is a masterclass in alien textures. It captures the pebbled, reptilian skin of the Nikto race with incredible fidelity. The facial sculpt features the specialized "nose-less" anatomy and small horns characteristic of the species, all rendered with a realistic, matte finish.
• Attire & Deco: Klaatu is dressed in his iconic beige and brown "Skiff Guard" outfit. The soft-goods skirt is a key highlight here, allowing for unrestricted leg movement while maintaining a realistic fabric look. The tattered edges of the tunic and the weathered texture of the harness give him the "lived-in" appearance essential for a Tatooine ruffian.
• Articulation: Featuring premium TVC articulation, including ball-jointed wrists and rocker ankles. The combination of high-grade plastic and fabric elements makes him one of the most poseable "background" figures in the line, capable of holding dynamic battle stances on a desert skiff.
• Display Utility: Klaatu is an essential "squad builder" for the Tatooine Skiff or Jabba's Sail Barge. He is best displayed alongside Barada or Weequay to recreate the chaotic battle over the Great Pit of Carkoon.

Accessories & Equipment

Klaatu comes equipped with his signature vibro-ax (a modified BD-1 cutter). The weapon is molded in a dark metallic grey with silver-painted edges to simulate a sharpened vibro-blade. The figure's hands are sculpted with a secure grip to allow for a variety of two-handed wielding poses, whether he's guarding the Hutt or fighting for his life against Luke Skywalker.
