This version was a major milestone for the line, as it finally brought a movie-accurate, clean astromech to the modern TVC cardback. Utilizing a superior buck compared to previous years, this Artoo was designed to be the "definitive" version of the character for 3.75-inch collectors, capturing the scale and proportions of the droid as he appeared in A New Hope.

Technical Details & Sculpt

• Scale & Sculpt: This figure utilizes the highly regarded astromech body that corrected the "oversized" scale of older droid figures. The proportions are much more in line with his on-screen height relative to human figures like Luke or C-3PO. The paneling is crisp, and the dome features a realistic brushed-metal appearance.
• Deco & Finish: The 2019 release is characterized by its very clean, "museum-style" finish. The cobalt blue panels are vibrant, and the red "processor state indicator" on the dome is sharp. There is no sand or carbon scoring on this version, making it the perfect choice for the early scenes on the Tantive IV.
• Articulation & Features: The figure includes a rotating dome that is mechanically linked to the retractable third leg—turning the head allows the center leg to descend or retract. The two main legs feature ankle joints that allow the feet to sit flush against the ground in either a two-leg or three-leg "tripod" stance.

It features two hinged panels on the front of the chassis that can be opened to reveal his retractable computer interface arm and a utility saw.
