Overview

Captain Phasma (Quicksilver Baton) is a November 1st 2018 Disney Store exclusive at $19.99, later available through the Fan Channel. Originally planned as a Toys’R’Us exclusive, the figure’s retail path changed when TRU went out of business, routing it first to Disney Stores and then to Fan Channel outlets. Built on the same body as the 2015 Captain Phasma (id=3454) with three specific new elements: a battle-damaged helmet, a new soft-goods cape with red trim detailing, and different chest paint. This is Phasma in her The Last Jedi Supremacy configuration — the version who faces Finn in the throne room fight before the film’s climactic battle.

At approximately 6.5 inches tall, Phasma carries the physical presence her character commands on screen.

The Battle Damage

The figure’s visual highlights are on the helmet and chest: the battle damage on the chest looks cool, and the hole and scarring on the helmet looks fantastic. The hole in Phasma’s visor — damage from Finn’s actions in The Force Awakens — is sculpted directly into the new helmet, with the surrounding scarring rendered in detail. Photo-real printing technology was applied to the one eye visible through the cracked visor. It looks very nice in person.

The Four Accessories

Blaster rifle — fits well into both hands and plugs into the right thigh peg hole for storage.

Extended quicksilver baton — the weapon from the Phasma vs Finn fight sequence. Fits well into both hands, making for a natural combat-ready display pose.

Collapsed quicksilver baton — the folded configuration. Captain Phasma has trouble holding this one — it’s too compact to grip securely in the hands. Primarily a display prop alongside the figure rather than a held accessory.

Soft-goods cape — removable, fits well on the figure, and has red trim detailing on one edge. The red trim is the TLJ-specific detail that distinguishes this cape from any prior Phasma release. Comes off easily for alternate display configurations.

The Armour

Even though Phasma was painted well overall, the armour doesn’t have the vac-metallized finish that would give it the mirror-bright, chrome-polished appearance seen in the film. The painted silver is good but not shiny enough for full screen accuracy. This has been a consistent challenge for Phasma figures across the Black Series — the 3¾-inch line has managed vac-metallized treatments on Phasma in the past, but the 6” versions have used standard silver paint throughout. It’s an honest note rather than a flaw, and the battle-damaged helmet and chest largely define this version’s display impact regardless.

Versus the Standard Phasma

Three things distinguish this version from the 2015 single-card release: the battle-damaged helmet with the cracked visor and photo-real eye, the new cape with red trim, and the updated chest paint. The quicksilver baton accessories are completely new to this release — the standard Phasma came with only a blaster rifle and cape.

Secondary Market

Disney Store / Fan Channel, November 2018. Four accessories: blaster rifle, extended baton, collapsed baton, removable cape. All four are worth confirming on loose sets, with the collapsed baton being the smallest and most easily lost.

Verdict

Captain Phasma (Quicksilver Baton) is the TLJ combat configuration — the cracked visor with photo-real eye looks exactly right, the red-trimmed cape is the specific Last Jedi detail, and both baton accessories cover the fight sequence’s weapon configurations. The non-shiny silver paint is the standing Phasma programme frustration. For Last Jedi display purposes, this is the version worth having over the standard 2015 release.
