Overview
The First Order Officer is the second half of a Toys’R’Us exclusive 2-pack released September 2017 at $39.99 for both figures, paired with Admiral Ackbar. A background character type from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi — the nameless officers who staff First Order command bridges and operations centres. 19 joints — ball-jointed dual-axis neck, lower swivel neck, ball-jointed shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, hips, swivel thighs, swivel joints above and below knees, ball-jointed ankles.
Two Accessories
Blaster — fits tightly into both hands. Sits well in the holster.
Removable hat — the Officer’s peaked cap fits well onto the head. This is the rank/role identifier for the character and the key visual distinction from a standard trooper.
The Uniform
All the details seen on First Order Officers in The Force Awakens are present — the paint application was well applied. The source documentation specifically notes it’s good to see Hasbro produce a minor character, and expresses hope for a different head sculpt down the road so collectors can more effectively build out First Order command dioramas with varied faces.
The Diorama Value
The First Order Officer is exactly the kind of figure that benefits from multiples — if you’re building a bridge or command centre display. One generic head sculpt limits variety, but the accurate uniform, removable hat, and tight blaster grip are the right foundation.
Secondary Market
Toys’R’Us, September 2017. Usually sold loose as a pair with Ackbar. Two accessories: blaster, removable hat. The hat is the easiest to lose from a loose set.
Verdict
First Order Officer is a solid rank-and-file command character — accurate uniform, well-fitting hat and holster, and the legitimate interest of being one of the few minor FO character types to receive the 6” treatment. The head sculpt limitation for diorama building is noted.
