Overview
The Emperor’s Royal Guard & Bogling Halloween Edition 2-Pack is the second of three Halloween Edition 2-packs in the 2025 series, released in early August 2025 exclusively at Target. Target exclusive at $24.99. A ghostly Halloween repaint of the Imperial Royal Guard character class. A Bogling companion accompanies. Pack #2 of 3 in the 2025 Halloween Edition series.
The Ghostly Glow-in-Dark Concept
The paint application is a ghostly Halloween version of the Imperial Royal Guard. When you turn the lights off the figure will glow in the dark — not very bright, but it does emit a glow. The glow-in-dark property is the defining Halloween engineering detail, making this the only Black Series Halloween Edition figure with a functional light-reactive property. The not-very-bright caveat is worth setting expectations — this is ambient phosphorescent glow rather than a dramatic light effect, but it is real and functional.
19 joints. Standard Phase 4 baseline.
The Loose Accessory Problem
Force pike — fits loosely into the hands. Not a secure weapon grip.
Blaster — fits loosely into the holster but the figure is unable to hold it well in either hand. Both weapons have loose-grip or loose-holster issues. The canonical Royal Guard’s force-pike-at-attention display configuration works (the pike in hand resting position), but active combat poses are limited by the loose pike grip.
The Non-Removable Robe
There are no removable parts on the figure — the soft-goods robe is its own separate piece, but on this particular Halloween version the helmet doesn’t come off which makes the robe non-removable. In contrast to the Archive Collection and standard Black Series Royal Guard releases where the robe is easily removable, this Halloween version locks the robe in place through the helmet-peg design.
Verdict
Emperor’s Royal Guard & Bogling Halloween Edition 2-Pack is a glow-in-dark novelty with two weapon-grip caveats — the functional (if dim) glow-in-dark property is a unique Halloween Edition feature not found elsewhere in the programme, but the loose force pike and blaster grip/holster issues limit practical display pose options, and the non-removable robe removes a standard configuration option. If Halloween Star Wars figures are your thing, the glow-in-dark Royal Guard has specific appeal. Target exclusive, early August 2025, Pack #2 of 3.
