Release Year: 2011 VC Number: #VC54 ID: arc-trooper-commander-star-wars-the-vintage-collection-vc54

One of the most celebrated "Expanded Universe" figures in the line, the ARC Trooper Commander (widely recognized as Captain Fordo from the 2003 Clone Wars micro-series) blasted into The Vintage Collection in 2011 as part of Wave 7. Capturing the legendary red-marked commander during the defense of Muunilinst, this figure was a landmark release for fans of the Genndy Tartakovsky era. It utilized the premier super-articulated Clone mold to deliver a definitive version of the soldier who redefined "one-man army" for a generation of fans.

Technical Details & Sculpt

  • Design & Phase I ARC Gear: The sculpt features the specialized Phase I ARC Trooper armor, distinguished by the reinforced Pauldron (shoulder armor) and the double-kama (waist cape). The helmet includes the iconic rangefinder and specialized filtration vents that set the ARC elite apart from the standard infantry.
  • Deco & Rank: The 2011 release is defined by its striking crimson markings, signifying the rank of Captain. The paint application features heavy "battle-scuffing" across the white armor plates, reflecting the intense urban combat seen on Muunilinst. The silver hits on the belt buckles and ammunition pouches add a high-end mechanical feel to the figure.
  • Articulation: Featuring premium TVC articulation, including ball-jointed shoulders, elbows, and knees. The "swivel" wrists and ball-jointed hips are perfectly tuned to allow the Commander to achieve the dynamic, John Woo-style dual-blaster poses that made the character famous.
  • Display Utility: This is the mandatory "leader" figure for any Clone Wars (2003) or Muunilinst diorama. He is best positioned leading a squad of ARC Troopers or standing alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi (VC103).

Accessories & Equipment

The ARC Trooper Commander comes prepared for maximum firepower. He includes his signature twin DC-17 blaster pistols and a DC-15S blaster carbine. A standout feature of the 2011 release is the highly detailed, removable kama and pauldron system; these are made of a soft-plastic material that allows for a wide range of leg movement without sacrificing the layered look of the elite gear. Additionally, the figure features functional holsters on each hip, allowing him to securely store his pistols while wielding the larger carbine.
