It successfully balanced the character's famously spindly, skeletal silhouette with the articulation required for dynamic combat posing, making it one of the most sought-after "army builders" of the prequel era.

• Deco & Finish: The 2011 release features a clean, uniform "desert tan" paint application. Unlike later weathered versions, this original release reflects the factory-fresh appearance of the droids as they first deployed from their MTTs onto the plains of Naboo.

Accessories & Equipment

The Battle Droid comes prepared for high-volume suppression fire. He includes the standard-issue E-5 blaster rifle, which is specifically scaled to fit his thin mechanical hands. A key feature of the 2011 release is the removable communications backpack, which includes two extendable antennae. The blaster can also be pegged into the side of the backpack, allowing the droid to be displayed in a "marching" or "non-combat" configuration.
