Bringing the high-stakes world of the Boonta Eve Classic to life, Ratts Tyerell & Pit Droid joined The Vintage Collection in 2011 as part of Wave 10. This two-pack features the diminutive Aleena podracer pilot from The Phantom Menace alongside one of the frantic DUM-series pit droids that populated the Mos Espa hangars. It remains a standout release for "world-building" collectors, offering two unique, small-scale sculpts that add a sense of scale and authentic "background" life to any Tatooine display.

Technical Details & Sculpt

  • Ratts Tyerell Sculpt: Despite his tiny 2-inch stature, the sculpt captures the unique Aleena physiology with impressive detail. It features his large, expressive eyes, pointed ears, and the padded orange flight suit worn during his ill-fated final race. The figure is masterfully balanced, allowing him to stand securely despite his thin limbs.
  • Pit Droid Sculpt: The included DUM-series Pit Droid is a mechanical marvel of 3.75-inch engineering. It captures the "copper-pot" head and spindly frame of the droids seen in Watto's shop. The sculpt is designed with specific hinges that allow it to be posed in its active state or folded down into its iconic "hibernation" disk shape.
  • Deco & Likeness: The 2011 release features a vibrant orange and blue palette for Ratts, reflecting the colorful sponsors of the podracing circuit. The Pit Droid features a weathered, metallic copper finish with subtle "grease" applications to simulate years of service in the desert heat.
  • Display Utility: This set is the essential "filler" for any Mos Espa Hangar or Podracer Starting Grid diorama. He is best displayed alongside Ben Quadinaros (VC81) or near a Podracer engine.

Accessories & Equipment

The duo comes prepared for the mechanical chaos of the race. Ratts Tyerell includes a removable flight helmet with integrated goggles that fit perfectly over his large Aleena head. The Pit Droid serves as the primary "accessory" for the set, featuring functional articulation in the legs and neck that allows it to interact with tools or other podracer components in a 3.75-inch environment.
