One of the most iconic and debated designs in cinematic history, Princess Leia (Slave Outfit) joined The Vintage Collection in 2011 as part of Wave 8. Representing her captive state in Jabba the Hutt's palace from Return of the Jedi, this figure was a significant engineering upgrade over previous versions. It aimed to balance the delicate, aesthetic nature of the "metal bikini" with the high-standard articulation expected of the TVC line, providing collectors with a definitive version of the Princess during her most vulnerable yet defiant moment.

Technical Details & Sculpt

  • Design & Anatomy: The sculpt features a specialized "skin-tone" plastic to minimize visible joint pins, maintaining the sleek look of the character. The "metal" bikini top and bottom are sculpted with intricate filigree details, accurately reflecting the costume designed by Nilo Rodis-Jamero and Aggie Guerard Rodgers.
  • Deco & Finish: The 2011 release utilizes a metallic bronze paint for the armor plates, contrasted by the deep maroon of the silk-like loincloth. Her facial deco captures a determined, stoic expression, while her long hair is sculpted in the signature braided ponytail with a detailed gold hair-tie.
  • Articulation: Despite the thin limbs, the figure features premium TVC articulation, including ball-jointed shoulders, elbows, and knees. The specialized "swivel" thighs and ball-jointed torso are engineered to allow Leia to sit naturally on Jabba’s Throne or transition into the combat-ready pose used to dispatch the Hutt.
  • Display Utility: This is the mandatory centerpiece for any Jabba’s Throne Room or Sail Barge diorama. She is best positioned directly in front of Jabba the Hutt (SDCC) or alongside R2-D2 (VC25).

Accessories & Equipment

Princess Leia comes equipped with the tools of her captivity and her eventual escape. She includes a force pike, commonly used by the palace guards, and a removable collar and chain. The chain is made of a lightweight, poseable material, allowing collectors to wrap it around Jabba's neck for a "Hutt-slayer" display. Additionally, she features a concealed blaster pistol, reflecting her readiness to strike when the opportunity arises.
