The galaxy’s most annoying court jester cackled his way into The Vintage Collection as a San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) exclusive in 2011. Part of the legendary "Revenge of the Jedi" Death Star set (despite the character appearing in Return of the Jedi), Salacious Crumb was a highly sought-after mini-figure. It provided a definitive, high-detail version of Jabba the Hutt’s Kowakian monkey-lizard, finally giving the 3.75-inch scale a version of the creature that captured his spindly, grotesque charm without the bulky proportions of earlier releases.

Technical Details & Sculpt

  • Design & Creature Sculpt: The sculpt is a marvel of small-scale engineering, capturing the wiry, avian-like limbs and the tufted "ears" of the Kowakian species. Despite being one of the smallest figures in the TVC line, it maintains a mischievous, hunched posture that perfectly replicates his position on Jabba’s dais.
  • Deco & Finish: The 2011 SDCC release features a hand-painted application that emphasizes his mottled, brownish-orange skin. His large, yellow predatory eyes are finished with a pinpoint black pupil, giving him the piercing, manic look seen during C-3PO’s unfortunate encounter in the palace.
  • Articulation: Due to his diminutive size, articulation is focused on the "essential" movements. He features a swivel neck and ball-jointed shoulders, allowing him to tilt his head mid-cackle or reach out to pluck at a protocol droid's eye.
  • Display Utility: This is the mandatory "shadow" for any Jabba the Hutt (SDCC) or Jabba’s Throne Room diorama. He is best positioned directly on the throne's armrest or perched near Bib Fortuna (VC71).

Accessories & Equipment

Salacious Crumb is essentially the "ultimate accessory" for the Jabba set. In this 2011 release, his primary "feature" was his tail-hook design, which allowed the figure to be securely hooked onto the edge of Jabba's throne or the railing of the Khetanna (Sail Barge). Additionally, being part of the "Revenge of the Jedi" line, he was presented on a unique cardback that remains a holy grail for collectors of the 2011 SDCC exclusive sets.
