The high-pitched cackle of Jabba the Hutt’s court jester echoed back into The Vintage Collection in 2024. This modern update of Salacious B. Crumb captures the Kowakian monkey-lizard in all his grotesque, spindly glory as seen in Return of the Jedi. Released as part of the specialized accessory sets and Jabba-themed multipacks, this "A" variant offers a definitive 3.75-inch representation of the creature, utilizing updated deco techniques to bring a new level of cinematic repulsiveness to the palace throne room.

Technical Details & Sculpt

  • Design & Creature Sculpt: The sculpt is a masterclass in small-scale creature work, accurately depicting Salacious’ thin, wiry limbs, oversized ears, and the tuft of hair atop his head. Despite his tiny stature, the figure maintains the hunched, mischievous posture that made him a standout in the 1983 creature shop.
  • Photo-Real Deco: The 2024 update features Photo-real eyes and a more nuanced "mottled" skin application. The paintwork transitions naturally from a pale tan on his belly to a more saturated brownish-orange on his back, with the yellow of his predatory eyes appearing much sharper than the hand-painted 2011 original.
  • Articulation: While limited by his size, the figure features ball-jointed shoulders and a swivel neck. This allows Salacious to "peek" over Jabba’s shoulder or tilt his head in a mocking laugh, fitting perfectly into the natural nooks of the Hutt's dais.
  • Display Utility: This is the mandatory "shadow" for any Jabba the Hutt display. He is best positioned directly on the throne or perched on the shoulder of Bib Fortuna (VC224).

Accessories & Equipment

Salacious B. Crumb is often treated as the "ultimate accessory" himself. In the 2024 release, he is typically paired with Jabba’s Hookah and Pipe or other palace detritus. A standout feature of this specific version is the tail-hook design, which is subtly curved to allow the figure to "grip" or hang from various ledges and armrests within the Tatooine Skiff or Barge dioramas, ensuring he stays in place during high-speed desert chases.
