Star Wars Black Series Din Djarin (The Mandalorian)
Every Star Wars Black Series Din Djarin figure — pre-beskar vs beskar explained, all armour configurations compared, the Darksaber Force FX Elite, and which version to buy for each season and display context.
Din Djarin is the most produced single character in the Galaxy Collection era — a figure range that has tracked the Mandalorian protagonist across every season, every significant costume change, and every major story moment from 2019 through the upcoming feature film. Understanding which Din Djarin figure to buy requires understanding the pre-beskar versus beskar split, which configurations are scene-specific versus general display, and where the Darksaber fits into the collecting picture. This is the most complex single-character figure range in the line.
Din Djarin in Star Wars
Din is human — a Mandalorian foundling of Clan Mudhorn, raised by a Death Watch covert after Separatist battle droids killed his parents during Order 66. He follows the Creed, which includes never removing his helmet in the presence of another living being — a practice the covert maintained as an absolute rule and which becomes the central tension of his character arc when following the Creed conflicts with the relationships the series builds around him.
His beskar armour is the defining visual of the Disney+ Star Wars era. The bright silver metal, the specific T-shaped visor, the cape — the design became one of the most recognisable new character silhouettes in the franchise within its first season. The armour is Mandalorian in the cultural as well as the material sense: forged from beskar steel, earned through service, carrying the specific significance of a culture that survived the Night of a Thousand Tears by the skin of its traditions.
His arc across three seasons moves from solitary bounty hunter to reluctant father figure to a warrior who becomes part of a larger Mandalorian project. Grogu — the Force-sensitive child he protects, trains with Luke Skywalker, and eventually reunites with — transforms the character from a self-contained individual story into something about what people choose to protect and what they’re willing to become for it. The Creed he follows strictly in season one is something he violates, loses, recovers, and interprets differently by season three. The helmet comes off. The character changes. The armour stays.
Pre-Beskar vs Beskar
The most important collecting distinction in the Din Djarin range is armour type. The original 2019 Red Line figures and the Credit Collection Mandalorian show the pre-beskar Foundling armour — the dull grey-brown suit Din wears in season one before the Client pays him in beskar steel. The beskar armour from MAN 01 onward is the iconic version: bright silver, metallic, the look that defines the character for most audiences.
For almost every collector, the beskar version is the correct purchase. The pre-beskar figures serve collectors who specifically want the season one pre-payment look, or who want the complete progression from Foundling armour to beskar. For a single-figure display, the pre-beskar versions are not the recommendation.
The Figure Range
The Mandalorian (Beskar Armor) from the Mandalorian sub-line mainline is the display foundation — the season two beskar configuration at Galaxy Collection production quality, standard mainline retail, the figure that most collectors use as their primary Din Djarin. It’s the recommendation for any general Mandalorian display and the starting point for building the Nevarro Streets scene.
The Mines of Mandalore figure from 2024 covers the season three damaged armour — the specific beaten state from the cave sequences, visually distinct from the season two pristine configuration. For a season three display, this is the era-accurate choice.
The Pagodon Target exclusive from 2026 is the most recent standard Din Djarin, connected to the film-era production cycle alongside the Mandalorian and Grogu Deluxe sets.
The Din Djarin (Morak) covers the single episode in season two where Din removes his armour and wears an Imperial refinery worker disguise to infiltrate the Morak facility with Migs Mayfeld. It’s the only Din Djarin figure without the helmet and armour that define him — a specific story moment rather than a general display configuration, but a significant one: it’s the episode where removing the helmet to save Grogu forces him to violate the Creed in front of a witness.
The Paired Deluxe Sets
Multiple Target-exclusive Deluxe sets pair Din with Grogu in specific episode environments. The Din Djarin and The Child Deluxe covers the original season one carrier configuration. The Arvala-7 and Maldo Kreis Deluxes place the pair in specific planet contexts. The Mandalorian and Grogu Deluxe and its First Edition variant are the most recent film-era releases.
For collectors who own the standard beskar figure and a separate Grogu, most of the Deluxes are optional rather than essential. They’re completionist purchases and scene-specific display pieces rather than primary display recommendations.
The Darksaber Force FX Elite
The Mandalorian Darksaber Force FX Elite is one of the programme’s most significant prop pieces — the ancient Mandalorian blade that Bo-Katan held and lost, that Din eventually wields, and whose ownership became the central political tension of season three. The Darksaber’s flat black blade with white energy core makes it visually unlike any other lightsaber in the franchise, and the Force FX treatment captures that specific aesthetic. Paired with the Beskar Armor Din or the Bo-Katan figure, it creates a display that tells the Mandalorian succession story without requiring any additional context.
Which Figure to Buy
For a single definitive Din Djarin: the Beskar Armor (MAN 01) for seasons one and two. For season three specifically: the Mines of Mandalore for the damaged armour context. For the Morak story moment: Din Djarin (Morak) as a scene-specific addition. For the film era: the Mandalorian and Grogu Deluxe reflects the most current production.
