Star Wars Black Series Han Solo
Every Star Wars Black Series Han Solo figure — ANH, Bespin, Endor, Solo film, Stormtrooper Disguise, Mimban, Carbonite, and the 50th Anniversary tributes. Which version to buy for every display.
Han Solo is one of the most produced characters in the Black Series — a figure range covering every major film appearance from A New Hope through The Force Awakens and Solo, with dedicated releases for most of his significant costume changes. The 2025 Galaxy Collection ANH version is the definitive modern Han; everything else serves a specific display context.
Han Solo in Star Wars
Han is human — a Corellian smuggler and former Imperial officer who meets Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker in the Mos Eisley Cantina and gets paid to fly them to Alderaan. He spends most of A New Hope making it clear he’s only in it for the money, then turns back at the Death Star trench run when it would have been cleaner to leave. His arc across the Original Trilogy is the reluctant hero becoming a committed one — not because he got more heroic, but because the cause and the people around him became worth fighting for.
Harrison Ford’s performance is the reason the character works. Han is the most self-aware person in most of his scenes, which is why he gets the best lines, and Ford plays the scepticism and the affection in the same register. The “I know” in response to Leia’s declaration in The Empire Strikes Back was Ford’s improvisation over the scripted response, and it’s a better character moment than anything written for him.
His death in The Force Awakens — killed by Ben Solo on the Starkiller Base bridge — is the sequel trilogy’s most significant single moment and the scene that does the most work in establishing Kylo Ren as a villain rather than just an antagonist.
The Figure Range
Eighteen figures is a lot for one character, and most of the range makes sense once you understand that Han changes costume significantly across his film appearances. Each configuration belongs to a specific display:
ANH Han is the vest-and-shirt look of the Mos Eisley and Death Star sequences — the classic silhouette that most people associate with the character. The 2025 Galaxy Collection ANH Han is the current definitive version and the one worth buying if you only pick one. Photo Real Harrison Ford likeness at current production standards, the correct display figure for the Death Star Corridors and Mos Eisley displays.
Bespin Han covers The Empire Strikes Back — the white shirt and waistcoat configuration of Cloud City. The 40th Anniversary ESB Bespin Han is the Photo Real version and the recommendation for the Bespin Duel and Carbon Freezing Chamber displays.
Endor Han covers Return of the Jedi — the camouflage combat gear of the Endor mission. Both the ROTJ Galaxy Collection and 40th Anniversary versions cover this configuration. For the Shield Bunker Assault display, this is the correct figure.
Solo film Han covers the Solo: A Star Wars Story jacket configuration — the only Red Line release without a Galaxy Collection update. It’s the correct figure for the Kessel Run display and worth owning for that context despite the pre-Photo Real production quality.
Mimban Han covers the muddy, early-career configuration from Solo’s Imperial army sequences — a specific scene variant for collectors who want completeness in the Solo display.
The Stormtrooper Disguise
The Blue Wave Stormtrooper Disguise Han is the Death Star infiltration configuration — Han in Imperial armour, the disguise that gets Luke and him through the Death Star’s corridors to rescue Leia. It pairs naturally with the Luke Skywalker Stormtrooper Disguise figure, and together they cover the specific ANH sequence where both main characters are impersonating soldiers. Both are pre-Photo Real Blue Wave figures, but the disguise context means the helmet-off portrait quality is less central than it would be for a standard costume figure.
The Carbonite and Collector Pieces
The Han Solo Carbonite Amazon exclusive 40th Anniversary release is a display prop rather than an action figure — Han frozen in carbonite, designed as a centrepiece for the Jabba’s Palace or Carbon Freezing Chamber display. It’s one of the more visually striking releases in the line and works as an anchor piece around which other figures can be arranged.
The 50th Anniversary POTF2 tribute Hasbro Pulse exclusive pays homage to the 1990s Power of the Force 2 collector line — the same approach as the Greedo and Greedo POTF2 tributes, packaging a modern figure in a way that references the collecting era that preceded the Black Series.
Which to Buy
For the standard modern ANH display: the 2025 Galaxy Collection Han Solo. For Bespin: the 40th Anniversary Bespin. For Endor: either the ROTJ sub-line or 40th Anniversary version. For Solo: the 2018 Red Line Solo film Han. If you only buy one and want the most versatile figure, ANH 2025 is the answer.
The range is large but not overwhelming once you organise it by display context. Each era of Han has a clear recommended figure, and the older releases are worth considering for specific scenes or for army-building a Stormtrooper Disguise pair. The Carbonite is worth adding to any Jabba’s Palace or Bespin display — it’s not a figure you pose, it’s a prop piece that anchors the scene.
Han’s figure range also reflects something true about the character: he’s in most of the important scenes across the Original Trilogy, changing costume and context as the story develops, and the Black Series has followed that faithfully. Few characters in the line have this level of era-specific coverage, and for collectors building the full Original Trilogy across multiple displays, having the right Han for each one matters more than for most characters.
