Overview
The Galaxy’s Edge Smuggler’s Run 5-Pack was released on May 31st 2019 — the opening day of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland — as a Disney park exclusive at $69.99. Five figures themed to the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run attraction and its associated characters. Rey (Batuu), Hondo Ohnaka, Chewbacca, and two Porgs. Four of the five figures were specifically updated or newly created for this set; Chewbacca alone was carried over unchanged.
Rey (Batuu)
A rework of the 2017 Black Series Rey (id=8013) with the photo-real face printing treatment applied — the face print looks phenomenal in person. 19 joints. Three accessories: staff (nicely painted with brown strap, white highlights, rustic appearance — good fit in both hands), blue lightsaber with removable blade (no belt hang point), and blaster (silver body, black handle, trigger-finger capable in either hand, tight holster fit). No balance issues. Well sculpted and painted, capturing the likeness of Rey very well.
Hondo Ohnaka
The set’s most significant first: the first realistic 6” interpretation of Hondo Ohnaka, who originated in the animated Clone Wars series and appears at Galaxy’s Edge as the operator of the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run ride. All prior Hondo figures were animated-style; this is his first realistic sculpt in 6” scale. 18 joints.
One blaster — fits the holster, left-hand trigger-finger grip. The coat is removable but the coat’s sleeves are sculpted and painted onto the arms, so removing the coat reveals bare-sleeved arms rather than a clean undergarment look. Hat and goggles are glued on and not removable. Necklaces around the neck and differently coloured hair clips in the hair are sculpted details. Stands well. Described as impressive and a beautiful addition to any Black Series collection.
Chewbacca
A straight re-release of the 2015 The Force Awakens Chewbacca (id=3460) — the only figure in the set not updated or newly created in any way. 17 joints. Multi-shade brown fur paint application. Removable bandolier with satchel. 2-piece bowcaster (scope permanently attached; body and front piece separate). Right-hand grip. 1½ to 2 heads taller than a standard 6” figure. No balance issues.
The Two Porgs
Two Porgs with distinct expressions and identities. 2 joints each — ball-jointed shoulders allow wings to be moved; no other articulation. No accessories on either.
Porg 1 (id=20412) — the sad Porg. Expression reads as downcast or apprehensive. Displays well without falling over.
Porg 2 (id=20413) — the excited male Porg. Male Porgs have orange rings around the eyes — this is one of the few figures in the Black Series line where the sex of the creature is specifically documented. Expression reads as alert or enthusiastic. Displays well without falling over.
The two distinct expressions give display options: pair them together for a complementary mood contrast, or place each with a different character grouping.
The Smuggler’s Run Context
Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run is the ride attraction inside Galaxy’s Edge where guests crew the Falcon on a mission for Hondo Ohnaka, who operates the ride’s narrative. The set captures the core cast of that experience: Rey and Chewbacca as the Falcon’s current guardians, Hondo as the mission operator, and the Porgs as the ship’s stowaways.
Secondary Market
Disney exclusive, May 2019, opening day Galaxy’s Edge. Verify accessories: Rey’s staff, lightsaber, and blaster; Hondo’s blaster; Chewbacca’s bandolier and bowcaster body + front piece. The lightsaber blade (removable) and bowcaster front piece are the smallest components to verify on a loose set.
Verdict
Smuggler’s Run 5-Pack delivers two genuinely notable figures — the first photo-real Rey with a spectacular face print, and the first realistic 6” Hondo Ohnaka, who had never appeared in this scale before. Chewbacca being an unchanged 2015 carry-over is the honest limitation. The two Porgs with distinct expressions and documented sex are a charming pair. At $69.99 for five figures including two significant firsts, the set holds up well.
