IG-11 (Credit Collection) — Star Wars The Black Series
The Black Series IG-11 (Credit Collection) — October 2020 Wave 1 GameStop exclusive. Repaint of 2019 source body. 19 joints, blasters plug onto hand pegs. Nearly 7 inches tall. Beautifully sculpted joints well hidden. Imperial Credit coin. MSRP $24.99.
Overview
IG-11 at the Credit Collection brings the canonical Mandalorian nurse droid turned protector into the end-credit artwork aesthetic — a colourful artistic interpretation of the character from The Mandalorian Season 1. Released October 2020 exclusively at GameStop as part of the inaugural Credit Collection wave alongside the Target and Amazon-distributed Wave 1 figures. GameStop exclusive at $24.99. 19 joints (droid-specific swivel articulation). Three accessories: a blaster, a blaster rifle, and a collectible Imperial Credit coin — plus an integrated bandolier not meant to be removed. The figure is a repaint of the 2019 Black Series IG-11 (figure id=23603). Each Wave 1 card features the iconic Kenner logo.
The Wave 1 Launch Context
The Credit Collection launched in October 2020 as a limited run of five repainted figures inspired by The Mandalorian Season 1 end-credit artwork. Wave 1 distributed across three retailers: Target (Cara Dune, The Child/Grogu), Amazon (Din Djarin, Death Trooper), and GameStop (this IG-11). Each figure includes an Imperial Credit coin — the in-universe context being that after the Empire’s fall, planets refused Imperial Credits on principle.
The Hand-Peg Blaster Engineering
Both blasters have small holes which can be plugged onto the pegs on each of the droid’s hands — this way IG-11 can hold them securely without having them fall out. This is structurally distinctive engineering. Most Black Series weapon-grip configurations rely on hand geometry for friction retention, which can fail with lighter weapons on looser hands. IG-11’s hand-peg system delivers positive-engagement blaster retention regardless of hand-tension variation.
The Scale and Sculpt
IG-11 stands almost 7” tall (17.78 cm) — taller than a regular Black Series figure, though still not tall enough when compared to the actual on-screen counterpart. The figure was sculpted beautifully with lots of wires and details on the front and back. Critically: the joints are extremely well hidden on this figure and don’t distract from the appearance — a specific sculpt-integration commendation that distinguishes IG-11’s articulation engineering from figures where joint seams break the visual read.
The bandolier can probably be taken off but it’s a very tight fit and not recommended.
Droid Articulation
19 joints with swivel-dominant droid-specific configuration: swivel neck, swivel and ball-jointed shoulders, ball-jointed elbows, upper body swivel joints (forward/back and side-to-side), swivel hips, swivel thighs, swivel knees, double-axis ankle swivels. The droid articulation approach uses swivel joints throughout rather than ball-jointed configurations, appropriate for the angular mechanical limb geometry of the IG-unit chassis.
Secondary Market
Single-carded GameStop exclusive Credit Collection release with dedicated Credit Collection cardback featuring the Kenner logo, October 2020. Available on the secondary market. Verify the blaster, blaster rifle, and Imperial Credit coin are present. The hand-peg retention means blasters are less likely to be lost loose inside the package than friction-grip weapons.
Verdict
IG-11 (Credit Collection) is the standout engineering entry of the Wave 1 Credit Collection — the hand-peg blaster retention solves the loose-weapon display problem entirely, the hidden-joints sculpt integration delivers clean droid visual read without articulation breaks, the near-7” scale correctly represents the IG-unit above-human proportions, and the Imperial Credit coin is the Wave 1 collectible detail.
Buy this if you collect the Credit Collection as a complete set (the only GameStop-exclusive Wave 1 entry), appreciate the hand-peg blaster engineering, or want the IG-11 character in the end-credit artwork palette.
