Metallic repaint of the 2019 Heavy Infantry Mandalorian source body. $36.99. 19 joints. 5 accessories: jet-pack, 2 interconnected cables, blaster cannon with rotating grip. 6.5 inches tall. Stands well despite height and cannon weight. MSRP $36.99.
Overview
Paz Vizsla Carbonized is a March 2022 Target-exclusive metallic repaint of the 2019 Black Series Heavy Infantry Mandalorian (figure id=23630), released alongside the Biker Scout (Carbonized) and Shoretrooper (Carbonized) as a three-figure Target Carbonized wave. Target exclusive at $36.99 — the highest-priced figure in this wave and reflective of the large-scale complex-accessory source body. 19 joints. Five accessories: a jet-pack, two interconnected cables, and a blaster cannon with a removable rotating grip. The Carbonized metallic paint is a collector novelty — not screen-accurate to any canonical Paz Vizsla appearance.
The Five-Accessory Cable System
Paz Vizsla’s defining accessory configuration is the interconnected cable-and-cannon system, and the Carbonized release inherits it fully from the 2019 source body. The jet-pack plugs firmly into a hole in the back of the figure. One cable runs from the jet-pack to the flamethrower gauntlet. The second cable runs from the bottom of the jet-pack to the blaster cannon. The blaster cannon can be held two-handed, or it can be attached to a hole on the side of the jet-pack for a carried-but-not-held stowage configuration.
The grip on the top of the blaster cannon can be rotated — a functional engineering detail that makes it easier to attach the figure’s left hand to the weapon. This rotating grip is present on the Carbonized version identical to the standard source body.
This is the same cable system as the Paz Vizsla Credit Collection — both are repaints of the same 2019 source body. The difference is the Carbonized metallic finish here vs the Credit Collection’s end-credit-artwork colour palette, and the absence of the Credit Collection’s Imperial Credit coin.
The Scale and Stability
Paz Vizsla stands 6.5” (16.51 cm) — above standard Black Series scale, reflecting the canonical heavy-armour above-human-proportion silhouette. The figure stands very well on display despite the above-baseline height and the added weight from the jet-pack and cannon combination. The 2019 source body’s balance engineering handles the top-heavy accessory loadout reliably.
The helmet is not removable and the rangefinder/tool on the helmet can’t be moved. The belt and plastic skirt are a single sculpted piece and not removable.
The Metallic Paint
The metallic paint application gives Paz Vizsla a shiny silver-and-chrome look across the Mandalorian armour. Combined with the canonical heavy-infantry silhouette — the large shoulder pauldron, the oversized cannon, the cable-connected jet-pack — the Carbonized finish reads as a stylised collector variant rather than an upgrade. The figure is nicely detailed throughout, with the helmet, gauntlets, belt, pouches, and jet-pack all contributing to a visually complex display piece even in the non-canonical metallic finish.
The March 2022 Target Carbonized Wave
The three March 2022 Target Carbonized figures — Biker Scout ($26.49), Shoretrooper ($26.49), and Paz Vizsla ($36.99) — form a Target-exclusive collector trio in Mandalorian-themed packaging. Paz Vizsla is the premium entry at $36.99, with the complex five-accessory loadout justifying the above-standard price. The Biker Scout and Shoretrooper at $26.49 are standard single-card pricing.
Paz Vizsla Carbonized vs Credit Collection
This is the second time Hasbro has produced the Paz Vizsla Heavy Infantry source body as a Carbonized/novelty repaint. The Credit Collection version came first in October 2020, also with the five-accessory cable system, at $34.99 through Best Buy. The Carbonized version arrived March 2022 through Target at $36.99. The accessories are identical; the finish is different. Collectors who own the Credit Collection version have no engineering reason to acquire the Carbonized one.
Secondary Market
Single-carded Target exclusive Carbonized release in Mandalorian-themed packaging, March 2022. Available on the secondary market. Verify all five components — jet-pack, both cables, blaster cannon, and rotating grip — are present. The cables are the most easily misplaced.
Verdict
Paz Vizsla (Carbonized) is the most accessory-rich and visually imposing entry in the March 2022 Target Carbonized wave — the five-accessory cable system is the same excellent engineering as the Credit Collection source body, the 6.5” scale and stable stance despite the top-heavy accessory loadout are genuine positives, and the rotating cannon grip solves left-hand attachment geometry cleanly.
If you own the Credit Collection Paz Vizsla, there’s no functional reason to acquire this. If you don’t, and you want the Heavy Infantry source body’s cable system in any finish, this and the Credit Collection version are structurally identical choices — the decision is purely about metallic Carbonized vs end-credit-artwork colour palette.
The brawny warrior in the strongest beskar armour, in metallic Carbonized silver. The figure with the interconnected cable system, the rotating-grip cannon, the jet-pack side-mount stowage, the 6.5” scale, and a finish that appears nowhere on screen. Target exclusive, March 2022.
