Overview
The Stormtrooper (Mimban) is a Walmart October 2018 exclusive at $19.99 — the Stormtroopers deployed on the muddy Imperial garrison world of Mimban in Solo: A Star Wars Story, supporting Mudtrooper ranks on the bog-planet frontline. The body reuses the Sandtrooper sculpt (id=2069) with a new helmet and a soft-goods cape, and the dirty Mimban paint application is the standout feature. 23 joints — ball-jointed dual-axis neck, lower swivel neck, ball-jointed shoulders, swivel biceps, double swivel joints above and below elbows, ball-jointed wrists, waist, hips, swivel thighs, swivel joints above and below knees, ball-jointed ankles.
The Mimban Paint
The source documentation describes the dirty Mimban weathering as genuinely glorious — the mud-caked, battle-worn paint is where this figure truly shines. It stands out from every other Stormtrooper variant in the programme through sheer paint differentiation. Both front and back are heavily weathered.
Known Tooling Issues
Two inherited issues from the Sandtrooper body — both visible, neither ruining the display:
Backpack hole — the body has a hole in the back where the Sandtrooper’s pack used to plug in. The Mimban Stormtrooper uses no backpack, so the hole is visible. It’s not visible from the front.
Small holster — the new blaster included with the figure has a flashlight sculpted onto one side, making it wider than the original blaster the holster was designed for. The holster is too small to accommodate the new weapon. The figure can hold the blaster in its hands perfectly well, but the holster doesn’t work.
The Cape
The soft-goods cape looks great — not bulky, fits well. The cape is not meant to be removed. It’s possible to take it off by loosening the strings, but this requires more than a head-pop and isn’t straightforward.
Secondary Market
Walmart, October 2018. One accessory: blaster. Confirm the cape is present and in good condition.
Verdict
Stormtrooper (Mimban) is one of the best trooper variants in Phase 3 for display impact — the dirty paint is extraordinary, the new helmet with front plate is distinctive, and the cape adds visual character. The backpack hole and small holster are inherited tooling notes that are invisible from primary display angles. Outstanding troop builder.
