Overview
The Wookiee & Vampire Bogling Halloween Edition 2-Pack is the first of two Halloween Edition 2-packs released in December 2022. Initially announced as a Walmart exclusive, it was also made available through the Fan Channel (specialty retailers) just a few days after announcement. Walmart/Fan Channel at $27.99. The Wookiee features a unique head sculpt and paint deco giving it a Werewolf vibe — not a repaint of an existing head, but a specifically designed Halloween character. A Vampire Bogling accompanies. Pack #1 of 2 in the 2022 Halloween Edition series.
The Werewolf Wookiee Concept
The Wookiee features a unique head sculpt and paint deco, giving it a Werewolf vibe. The Halloween concept maps naturally — the Wookiee species’ full-body fur and imposing stature translate directly to a werewolf aesthetic without requiring much creative stretch. This is among the better Halloween Edition character-concept fits in the programme, and the fact that Hasbro invested in a unique head sculpt rather than a standard repaint signals commitment to the concept.
16 joints. Despite its impressive height the figure stands remarkably well on display. The plastic harness around the body is not removable.
The Camtono Accessories
The four accessories are the standout of this release. The Camtono (Jack-O-Lantern) has a removable lid, and it has enough room inside to store the two stacks of chocolate bars. This is a functionally interactive accessory set — the Jack-O-Lantern Camtono opens, the chocolate bars fit inside, and the lid closes over them. It’s the most creative accessory engineering in the 2022 Halloween Edition series, playing directly on the trick-or-treat seasonal concept.
The Vampire Bogling Companion
The small furry Bogling accompanies in vampire styling — fangs and Halloween colouring on the otherwise neutral creature companion. The Vampire Bogling is one of the Halloween Edition programme’s more charming small companion figures.
Verdict
Wookiee & Vampire Bogling Halloween Edition 2-Pack is the better of the two 2022 Halloween 2-packs — the unique Werewolf head sculpt shows Hasbro’s commitment to the concept, the interactive Jack-O-Lantern Camtono with chocolate bar storage is the most creatively engineered Halloween accessory set in the programme, and the figure stands reliably despite its above-baseline height.
