Commander Fox — Star Wars The Black Series

Overview

Commander Fox is a GameStop exclusive released on Triple Force Friday — October 4, 2019 — at $22.99. CC-1010, commander of the Coruscant Guard, the peacekeeping unit responsible for security on the Republic’s capital world. Fox appeared throughout The Clone Wars film and series, handling internal Republic threats and crimes on Coruscant rather than frontline Clone Wars battles. This is the first realistic 6” Black Series release for the character. 23 joints with notably well-hidden articulation throughout — even the biceps and thighs are articulated without the joints being visually distracting.

Four Weapons

Commander Fox’s loadout is the most weapons-heavy Clone commander in the Phase 3 exclusives. Four accessories total:

Two small DC-17-style blasters — fit into the holsters. Both hands can hold them, right hand better than left, right index finger placed onto the triggers.

Regular blaster — fits both hands, trigger-finger right.

Blaster rifle — the long weapon configuration, trigger-finger right.

All four weapons fit better into the right hand than the left — a consistent note across all of them. All four were painted with a nicely used look, appropriate to a working Coruscant Guard commander.

Paint Quality

The paint application looks great throughout: dirt on the entire armour gives it a realistic, worked-in appearance rather than the clean factory look. The full-armour weathering is notably more comprehensive than Commander Wolffe’s lighter touch. The blaster rifle’s used-look paint matches the armour’s weathering tone. No removable parts on the armour, no head under the helmet.

The Coruscant Guard Context

Fox and the Coruscant Guard operated differently from frontline Clone commanders — their role was internal security and Republic law enforcement rather than combat against Separatist forces. Fox’s red markings distinguish him from the broader Clone army while the weathering acknowledges that even peacekeeping on Coruscant during wartime left its mark. His most dramatically significant Clone Wars moment involved his direct confrontation with Ahsoka Tano under orders that forced an impossible choice.

Secondary Market

GameStop exclusive, Triple Force Friday 2019. Four weapons: two small blasters, regular blaster, blaster rifle. Confirm all four are present and that the holsters contain their blasters on loose sets.

Verdict

Commander Fox is a strong Triple Force Friday release — four weapons with consistent trigger-finger capability, well-hidden articulation that reads cleanly on display, and full-armour weathering that stands out against cleaner Clone commander releases. The right-hand-dominant weapon grip is a minor note across all four. For Clone Wars Coruscant collections this is the essential Fox.
