The Jawa & Salacious B. Crumb Holiday Edition 2-Pack is the second of six Holiday Edition 2-packs in the 2023 series, released in October 2023 as a Fan Channel exclusive. Fan Channel exclusive at $27.99. The Jawa is a repaint of the 2018 Black Series Jawa (figure id=9102) in a Santa-inspired seasonal colour scheme — described simply as a Santa Jawa, which is a quirky and fun figure for the Holidays. Salacious B. Crumb accompanies in festive holiday colours. Pack #2 of 6 in the 2023 Holiday Edition series.

The Santa Jawa Concept

This “Santa Jawa” is a quirky and fun figure for the Holidays. The seasonal concept is entertainingly absurd — the Jawa character class is a sand-dwelling scavenger species from Tatooine’s desert wastes, and mapping that onto a Santa Claus aesthetic requires suspension of canonical logic. The result is charming precisely because it’s committed to the incongruity. The hood and plastic robe are not removable.

The Permanently Attached Blaster

The Ion Blaster is permanently attached to the bandolier and not removable. This is the Jawa Holiday Edition’s key accessory note — there are no free accessories in the pack. The blaster is a sculpted part of the bandolier equipment rather than a separate hand-holdable weapon. Even though it’s a very tight fit, it’s possible to place the weapon inside the holster and the figure can hold the weapon in the right hand, but it’s impossible to have the Jawa hold it in a shooting pose. For display purposes, the blaster is fixed to the bandolier as the canonical at-rest configuration. The strap with the pouches across the figure’s chest is its own piece and can be moved around a little, but it’s impossible to take it off without breaking the figure or the strap.

Articulation and the Robe Limitation

15 joints — ball-jointed top neck, swivel lower neck, ball-jointed shoulders, elbows, and wrists, ball-jointed waist, ball-jointed hips, ball-jointed knees, ball-jointed ankles. Hasbro gave the figure ball-jointed hips and knees, even though the legs can’t be adjusted due to the plastic robe being in the way. The plastic robe physically blocks the leg-joint range of motion regardless of the underlying engineering — a recurring Jawa-class character challenge. The figure has no balancing issues on display.

Salacious B. Crumb Companion

Salacious B. Crumb — the cackle-prone reptavian Kowakian monkey-lizard from Jabba’s court — accompanies in holiday colours. The pairing of a Santa Jawa and a festively-painted Salacious B. Crumb is one of the more eccentric character-combination choices in the 2023 Holiday Edition series.

Jawa & Salacious B. Crumb Holiday Edition 2-Pack is a charming entry in the 2023 series built entirely around the “Santa Jawa” novelty concept — the seasonal repaint of the Jawa character class is committed and fun, and the source documentation specifically calls it quirky and fun. The permanently attached blaster and robe-blocked legs are inherent Jawa-class structural constraints rather than Holiday Edition failings.
