Star Wars Black Series Order 66
The simultaneous galaxy-wide execution of the Jedi Order — clone commanders turning on their generals, the temple assault, and the Siege of Mandalore. The Black Series figures for this scene, spanning Revenge of the Sith, The Clone Wars, and the specific pairings that make Order 66 the most emotionally significant military action in Star Wars.
Order 66 is the moment the Clone Wars ends and the Empire begins. It’s not a battle in the conventional sense — there’s no front line, no opposing army, no tactical objective in the normal military meaning. It’s a command that activates a biological compulsion in every clone trooper simultaneously, across every world where the Republic’s army is deployed, turning loyal soldiers against the generals they’ve fought alongside for three years. In minutes, the Jedi Order ceases to exist as an organised force. The Black Series has built toward this scene across multiple sub-lines and years of production, covering both the Jedi victims and the clone units who execute the order.
The Scene in Star Wars
Darth Sidious issues Order 66 as the culmination of a plan decades in the making. The clones were grown with a specific inhibitor chip — the biological switch that overrides their personalities and makes the order possible. Most of them didn’t choose to comply. The Clone Wars animated series explored this in detail, particularly through the Fives arc, which established that some clones were aware of the chip and tried to expose it before the order was given. Rex had his chip removed. Most didn’t.
Revenge of the Sith depicts Order 66 as a montage of simultaneous betrayals — each Jedi General cut down by their own troops on a different world. The sequence is designed to be cumulative: each image of a Jedi falling adds to the weight of the previous one, until the montage becomes a kind of memorial. Ki-Adi-Mundi on Mygeeto, Aayla Secura on Felucia, Plo Koon’s starfighter shot down over Cato Neimoidia. Yoda on Kashyyyk, who senses what’s happening before the clones can act and fights his way out.
The Clone Wars final arc — the Siege of Mandalore — adds a further dimension. Ahsoka Tano and Rex are dealing with their own Order 66 as it happens, on a Star Destroyer, cut off from the rest of the galaxy. Ahsoka doesn’t have a lightsaber. She has to survive by other means. The Bad Batch extends this further, showing how different clones responded differently to the inhibitor chip and what the immediate aftermath looked like for people who survived.
The Pairings
The Order 66 display’s power comes from pairing Jedi and clone commanders in their specific confrontations. The Black Series has produced several of these deliberately:
Mygeeto — Ki-Adi-Mundi faces Clone Commander Bacara and Clone Lieutenant Galle. The Mygeeto pairing is the most completely represented Order 66 sequence in the line: a specific Jedi, his specific commanding officer, and the lieutenant who carries it out. All three are now available, making this the closest thing to a definitive Order 66 scene recreation the Black Series offers.
Kashyyyk — The Yoda and Clone Commander Gree two-pack from the Clones of the Republic programme is designed specifically for this moment. Gree is the commander who attempts to execute Yoda; Yoda decapitates him and his companion before the sabers reach him. The two-pack format acknowledges that these two figures belong together.
Coruscant / Temple Assault — Anakin Skywalker (Revenge of the Sith) with Darth Sidious covers the Coruscant portion. The Temple assault — Anakin leading the 501st into the Jedi Temple — is the most personal Order 66 sequence, and the ROTS Anakin’s specific look makes the connection explicit.
Siege of Mandalore — Ahsoka Tano (Clone Wars), Clone Commander Jesse, and the 332nd Clone Trooper cover the Clone Wars final arc. Jesse’s Order 66 execution of the order against Ahsoka — a trooper who knows her personally, who has fought alongside her — is one of the series’ most affecting moments, and his figure exists specifically because of that scene’s cultural significance.
The Jedi Victims
The Attack of the Clones sub-line significantly deepened the Order 66 Jedi roster. Aayla Secura, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Shaak Ti, Luminara Unduli, and Barriss Offee were all produced across the 2023-2025 AOTC releases, joining the Red Line Plo Koon and Mace Windu as the display’s Jedi side.
The Mace Windu and 187th Legion Clone Trooper two-pack operates slightly differently — Windu’s death comes before Order 66, at Palpatine’s hands in the Senate chamber. But his inclusion in the Order 66 scene reflects his role in the broader collapse of the Jedi Order, and his specific relationship with the 187th makes the two-pack a Clones of the Republic display piece as much as a strict Order 66 pairing.
The Clone Army
The clone army for this display draws from multiple sub-lines. The Phase II Clone Trooper mainline release is the army-building baseline — the late-war armour of the clones who execute the order. The battalion-specific variants add specificity: the 212th, the 187th, the 332nd. The older Blue Wave clone troopers — the Sergeant and Captain — provide additional army-building options at a lower production quality that the Phase II armour design largely conceals.
ARC Trooper Fives represents the Clone Wars’ most significant exploration of Order 66’s mechanics — the trooper who discovered the inhibitor chip, investigated it, and was killed before he could expose it. His presence in the Order 66 display is a memorial as much as a tactical figure.
